Moving requires teamwork. And in these challenging times, northAmerican® is committed to working with everyone involved in a move to ensure one key goal: the health and well-being of our customers, team members, suppliers, clients and their relocating employees.

In our effort to prevent the spread of germs and illness, northAmerican has provided everyone who interacts with our moving customers – employees, agency personnel, drivers and crews – with safety measure guidance that exceeds CDC prevention guidelines.  We will continue to take every precaution necessary to ensure safe moves for all.

The following guidelines from the American Moving & Storage Association should help promote safety during any moves planned now or within the near future.

Big Smiles, No Shakes

To avoid personal contact, per van line instructions, you can expect a warm greeting and a big smile from your northAmerican crew, but no handshake. Please don’t be offended – it’s for everyone’s safety.

Maintain Distance with Virtual Estimates and Planning

Comply with important social distancing measures through online, video and virtual estimating. Ask your professional move coordinator for available options and we can figure out a plan that works best with your situation.

Germ-Free Crews Mean Germ Free Moves

If possible, provide access to a sink, soap and paper towels for your moving crew throughout the move, and hand sanitizer by the door. Our crews will have basic supplies with them, but having more options available for proper hand washing will assist everyone in preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Fresh Supplies for Safety’s Sake

Used or recycled packing materials could be compromised. Don’t take a chance with your health. Use only new boxes, tape, packing paper and other supplies.  

Communication is Key

If anyone in your home may have contracted Coronavirus or are isolating due to virus exposure or potential exposure, call your northAmerican move coordinator immediately. We’ll do our best to help you reschedule your move.

Remember, ensuring everyone’s safety throughout the move is northAmerican’s top priority. If we work together, we can get through this pandemic in good health.
